Yorkadelphia City

Five years ago, Yorkadelphia underwent an event that saw the birth of extra-abled people known simply as “Extras.” With powers ranging from the enviable like super speed or strength to making a city block cream their jeans, the impact of thousands of individuals suddenly gaining powers has been felt daily in the years since…

The Octarches & The Five Seasons

Organizations of Extras have sprung up in the wake, the most prominent of these being the Octarches. An assemblage of some of the most powerful (but not necessarily competent) Extras, the Octarches “protect” Yorkadelphia City from any Extras making a scene. They will respond without fail; unless they’re tired, or it’s too early, or if the villain is gross, or if they just don’t feel like it. Heavy handed in their approach, they often leave more destruction in their wake than if they’d never arrived. Their nominal leader, Stage Fright, is the most powerful Extra alive, but his anxiety has led to the recklessness of the rest of the Octarches.

Fortunately for the Octarches, their main threats have been absent for years. The mysterious Five Seasons, a rare group of Extras from before the event, have been seen sparingly since the outcropping of new Extras. But, they make the occasional public appearance to remind the city they haven’t moved (from the city OR the couch). The Five Seasons’ oddly ambivalent attitude towards certain Extras is thought to be a reason Yorkadelphia still stands at all.

Vigilante Anonymous

Unaligned and unwanted, the majority of Extras struggle through life playing hero or villain, abandoning traditional jobs with hopes of chasing their dreams with their new talents. For some, these talents are a new lease on life, while for others it’s a burden. Extras still grappling with their new abilities have formed support groups, like the Vigilante Anonymous Group. A collection of ragtag “heroes” and “villains” put aside their alignment for their weekly meeting in a church basement, led by the matronly Madame Empath. Forging friendships across lines isn’t an uncommon occurrence at these meetings.

The Extrables “radio-drama” features Extra action, Extra great characters, and nonsense galore. It’s been called “the Seinfeld of comic books” by people that love us and think it's a compliment. From Extras just living life and cops that are very relatable if you’ve had multiple concussions, we have it all. So join us while we figure out what the hell is going on!
